Loosely known as ‘The Battle of Hoth’, a special one-off Seight Sports Sprint Wars was run by PACC at the Superdrome on Sunday afternoon. With the addition of quite a few top-notch visitors from interstate and some ‘local’ HPU riders, the field was set to commence the attack/defence of Echo Base, leaving Admiral Ozzel dead on the floor of the Executor and Han Solo struggling to get the Millennium Falcon ready for the evacuation…but I digress…

It was The Dark Cross supported by Focus Bikes. It was Dark. There was Cross. In a first for cyclo-cross in SA we raced on the grounds of the Adelaide Superdrome using the carparking and Superdrome flood lights. The course was tight, dusty and dry, and slowly degenerated into some sand berms as the night went on. Located on the side of a hill and 1.65km long it included a set of stairs, a paved ramp, barriers and a gravel patch. About half the riders chose to use a headlight, but it was quite possible to race without.

Today saw the last of the 2018-19 Zero Frictiion Cycling Time Trials at the windless (yes, that's what the BOM says) Outer Harbor. It was a dark start, but the weather couldn't have been more perfect. Regular participants were joined by 25 athletes taking part of the Invictus Cycling Pathways program being held this weekend, so the field was at capacity.

Last night the final round of Seight Sports Sprint Wars was run at the Adelaide Superdrome. With the Superdrome closing for a few months, it was a final opportunity for riders to get some valuable track time and there was nearly a full field of 32 riders lining up for their flying 200m qualifying, with some U17 riders boosting the Elite entries.

We were back to the City, with wintery conditions - on part of last year's ripper National Cyclo-Cross Series course. With rain falling and temperatures dropping to 14C by the end of the evening, it was our first taste of mud for quite some time. Quite a few new riders enjoying the conditions and a terrific set-up and pack-down volunteer effort meant we got maximum race times given the gloomy conditions.

Round 3 of the 2018-19 Zero Friction Cycling Time Trial Series was held this morning with 52 riders taking to the course, including 8 juniors from the second start line at Harrold Street. A steady breeze kept the temperature down, and the mosquitos active.

There was some cracking Junior sprinting at the Superdrome last night during the running of PACC's Seight Sports Sprint Wars. The conditions were perfect for some great qualifying times, with most Juniors beating and in some cases absolutely smashing their 200m times from Junior States.
