We marked the first day of summer and our first time trial of the series with unseasonably cold, windy and drizzly weather.  Despite the BOM showing expected winds of 39 - 44 km/h and rain of 3mm during the event, it was quite mild and reasonably dry from start to finish. A number of those who had entered chose to stay in bed, but some riders who toughed it out were rewarded with PBs.

Sam Golding (NCC) made his TT debut, and earned himself a shiny new waxed chain thanks to series sponsor Zero Friction Cycling.

Amber Pate (NCC)  took out the fastest time for the women in her TT debut, beating PACC Prez Gemma Kernich by a mere second.  Lucas Hoffman (Whyalla CC) scored a PB in 22 minutes flat. Only one junior braved the short course this morning, with Connor Doyle (Scotch College CC) finishing his 8.4km course in style in a respectable time of 16:13. In the battle of the households, it looks like Mitchell Bails and David Miller are on dishes duty this week.

Thanks to everyone who came out to watch or compete despite the forecast.

Big love to vollies Jo Dettloff, Will Lyons, Mark Gregory, David Birks and Paula Hollamby for making it happen.
