Family Friendly Event!
Suitable for PACC kids and adults alike - a chance to give back to the Port community and have great fun!
Be a part of the traditional Port Adelaide Enfield Christmas Parade on your bike, trike or balance bike. Get your Christmassy Port kit or christmas themed costume* on, bring a bag of wrapped lollies as handouts and be part of the parade and spread some Christmas cheer!
The City of Port Adelaide Enfield's festival event is set to be a family-friendly celebration of our community, complete with the usual dazzling floats and marching bands making their way down Commercial Road. The Parade will be in its 34th year, with thousands of people expected to flock the streets of Port Adelaide to witness this vibrant and colourful celebration.
Following our participation in the parade there are two social options to kick on:
- FAMILY FRIENDLY: Kick back in the Port - There's a free street party and concert from 11am until 3pm, with Santa's Cave, live entertainment, roving performers, arts, craft, amusements and rides, plus plenty of food and drink for all the families to enjoy.
- Tackle the inugural PACC AlleyCat Scavenger hunt - get your map at Pirate Life between 11 and 11:30am
(*no Santas or Father Christmases allowed, it's U.C.I rules#)
(#only joking its to avoid small childrens' confusion as the big fella is at the back then headed to Santa's Grotto for visitations after)
PARADE INSTRUCTIONS
Arrive at 8:30am. We are in Parade Section A. Look for a sign-posted 'Section A', and ask a marshal (wearing a high-vis vest) where "Port Adelaide Cycling Club" is. The Assembly area is Baynes Place, Port Adelaide (just south of the Railway viaduct). The Parade is moving at 10am and we're somewhere near the front for an early getaway!
The route goes from Baynes Place, left onto Commercial Road, right onto St Vincent St and finishes at Lipson Parade. For the Family fun area, head back along the water towards the Lighthouse. For the Alley Cat - head to Pirate Life!
Roads near the Parade will be closed from 7am, so you will need to ride (or walk) in from further afield.
