Member Feedback – Role Statements:

PACC is seeking feedback on a range of role statements, including:

Background:

Consistent with trends across Australia, PACC is seeing a decline in our member base, a decline in the number of people volunteering, and with a few exceptions (Cyclocross), a decline in participation in organised events. We are seeing more and more work being done by fewer and fewer people, which creates a risk to the Club’s ability to continue delivering events in the future.

Following the strategic planning and member consultation process earlier this year, the Board has identified several key focus areas, including:

  • Improving junior member attraction and engagement;
  • Building on PACC’s reputation for exciting and interesting racing events, and friendly and welcoming social events; and
  • Improving pathways for women and girls to participate in cycling activities.

We have decided that one approach is to create roles covering women and girls’ participation, junior attraction and development, and social event coordination, and have drafted Role Statements for each of these roles. Following some initial targeted consultation, we now seek broader member input.

These Role Statements are one approach to addressing the identified issues, but we would be delighted to hear from our members about other ways to improve the club’s offerings. How do you think we can attract new members? How do you think we can improve our offerings for juniors, women, and members generally?
