There went my warm up.
Headed down to the Sign On desk to staff giving me Cheek,
I don't no why :)
Picked up Team Captains race number and BBQ vouchers for the troops.
Cos if i didn't feed them they wouldn't come out and play again.
Then waited for everyone to arrive to read out the Rules
1. Must have fun
2. don't behave your self we are not called the Ratbag Team for nothing.
3. we are only as fast as our slowest rider which is your team Cap so look after me
4. No drafting of other teams cos they get shitty
5. Obey all Road rules unless nobody is looking.
6. Listen to Marshall's they have big sticks.
7. this is fun look after each other no man gets left behind.
At 920am we headed for the start line and headed of at 933am or 936 by there time.
Having a team of all Men and one 14year old Boy who were all very strong riders ment i got pushed to extremes, which was a good thing.
We were riding at 42 to 46kph at the start till the first Climb at Lyndoch.
Where my bike seamed to just roll backwards and there's full speed a head. Mmmm do i have a flat. Nope- oh it's just me.
Wenqi and Chris stuck by me encouraging me to power through.
While the others pushed on and waited at the top of the hill.
Finally we had the flat road again and we all rode as a team again and rode at 44kph, i soon realized that Whispering Wall was around the corner and here i went from 44kph to 8kph. Chris stayed with me and encourage me to keep pushing and i made it to the top of that horror.
Met up with the team again and one lap of 22kms was finished, now for the second lap.
The Second lap i had trouble keeping up with the boys so spent most of the time in the drops trying to avoid the head wind and to catch up with my team.
The weather started to fine up a little bit and it got warmer, the second time on whispering wall i had to stop my Lungs were about to explode. but more encouragement from Chris and we took of again.
The boys would of had a very good time if i had just gone to the pub and left them to it. but it was about team bonding and having a laugh and that is all that matters.
We had three new riders this time Gus,Mark and Wenqi.
We had a Great Little team that rode well together and supported each other and had fun doing it.
Chris 'Blingy' Spence Won best Team domestique he deserved the trophy. on ya Blingy.
The Boys all enjoyed the BBQ - which i think saved the day.
