Solid track stem bar combinations?

Will a nitto 123 work with a thomson stem or is the thomson clamping area too wide for the ferule on the nitto bar, or does it get enough bite and it does not matter?

would a deda velocita and thomson x4 be better (stiffer)?

the easton ec90's review well (stiff) but i am more worried about my ham fisted mechanical skills and total life expectancy with carbon from usual wear and tear/transport (although i do own a torque wrench).

any way there is my option 1-2&3....

does any body have any experience?

thank you again to everybody for taking the time to read my post and post a reply.
Regards, Dale

A nitto sprint has a clamp diameter is 25.4mm or whatever it is, the older thomsons of that diameter work fine.

Oodles stiff and they have more than one crash in them (unlike carbon models).

I think you'll find if you're strong the alloy dedas are a bit weak (just ask Aaron who bent his spectacularly doing a start )

You get more choice of bend, width and shape in the Nittos!

yes but the ferule for mounting is smaller(narrower) than the thomson clamp area. I have read on the mis information highway that they work together, but also that they dont. I was hoping to get some confirmation from somebody who has actualy tried them together.

thank you gemm for your prompt reply :)

I can feel my deda pista bar moving quite a bit underneath me. granted i am not as strong as aaron........ but

I know I may sound like I'm talking out my arse and making stuff up... but I am not.

Here's a pic taken about 5 mins ago, in my shed, on a bike that has not had the bars slip or move since the time I torqued em together about 4 years ago. And they've been ridden quite regularly (till recently) by someone I'd reckon is a wee bit stronger and quicker than you....

awesome gemm :D

just what i wanted to hear

i was just worried the ferule or clamp area on the nitto was not wide enough for the extra wide face plate/ clamping area on the thomson. and i was worried after reading another post on another forum that the bar was prone to twisting in the clamp.
if you get what i mean........
