Here's the plan.
We pick an obscure European pro rider who is doing the TDU. Someone who no one has heard of before, will probably not get a Tour de France spot, and is making minimum wage fetching bottles for his team leader. Preferably non english speaking.
We all make an effort to cheer him like crazy, every time we can see him during the TDU. We can even work out how to cheer him on in his native language.
Result: Obscure pro wonders where the heck this mysterious fanbase has come from, and is confused but delighted.
Any suggestions as to whom to pick?

Okay, after some consultation, our obscure pro of choice is:
107. VICHOT Arthur FRA
Riding for Francaise Des Jeux.
There is little information on the internet about Mr Vichot, however it would appear that this is his first season on a UCI protour team. His best result is 2nd in the Circuit des Ardennes last year.
Here is a picture of him riding for the French national team:
Here is his French Wikipédia page: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Vichot
So - everytime you see Vichot - yell his name!
Year 8 and 9 french class tell me that pronunciation would be with a soft "ch" and a silent "t": e.g. "vish-oh"
Or yell "Bravo Vichot", "Allez Vichot", "Bonne Chance Vichot" etc.
NOTE: The idea here is that we are cheering on a rider who wouldn't normally receive a lot of attention. We are NOT taking the piss. Don't go writing blatantly untrue things like "I have been following your career for years" on his facebook wall, that's just stupid. Thankyou. _________________ What would Jens do?

Great idea.
If you really wanted to mess with his head, we could find out what hotel the team is staying at and send a welcome gift.
Something like a collection of cheap Australiana merch and a jar of Vegemite -- "Welcome to Adelaide and good luck in the Tour Down Under. We anticipate many memorable victories. From the Official Adelaide Arthur Vichot Support Crew" |

| I hope it inspires him to go for a stage win. Imagine the roar from the fans when he crosses the line first... |

| We should try and get as many photos of Arthur as we can and put them on his fan page. |
